An "International Week"... what for ?

An International Week has been set up since the 2006-2007 school year and it has become the cultural event of our school during which we host about 100 people from 10 foreign delegations.
During this week both students and staff are immersed into an intercultural atmosphere in which experience sharing is important : cultural and language exchanges with our partners are developed then.

How does it work ?

Each one of the ten delegations we host is composed of a maximum of ten students and two accompanying staff. Foreign students must be between 14 and 18 years old to match our students’age and have to speak English, German, Spanish or French. They are accommodated in our French students’ families and staff at teachers’ homes.
Lunch is provided by the school restaurant for the week and dinners are taken at students’ and teachers’ families. On the weekend full accommodation is provided by host families.

Both school activities and visits are organized by LP2I. Foreign delegations have to make travel arrangements to and from LP2I.

Every International Week has a theme. Each delegation has to make a ten-minute presentation based on the given theme for our special “Delegations Show”. They can present a video, a slideshow, give a short concert or even give us a folk dance show if they like.
Foreign staff is also required to prepare a 90-minute international workshop : it can be based on any school subject (e.g. mathematics in German, history in Spanish, Physics in English…) or be used to introduce students to the culture of their country of origin (discovering their home music or literature). It can also be a workshop on creative writing or art production or drama improvisation… Teachers are free to choose what they like.
Once we have the list of all proposed workshops, every French and foreign student then chooses two of them according to their needs or tastes.

The programme of our International Week will be put online on our website a few weeks before the beginning of the event.

In return, our foreign partners are kindly requested to host a few of our French students in their country at the end of the school year for two weeks. Likewise LP2I can also host and accommodate a few foreign students during the school year for a week or two.

We are looking forward to meeting you or seeing you again on our next International Week.
